Premiere Cycling Promotions is a privately held promotions company which has been in existence since 1994. The company’s main focus is the promotion of professionally organized cycling events throughout the state of New Jersey.
We take pride in running the most efficient, safest bike races in the state. We do this by working with towns, parks and local authorities to ensure safe routes, and with the local communities and businesses to gain support positive publicity. Over the past 15 years, Premiere has run successful bicycle races throughout New Jersey.
Managing Director and Course and Series Architect, Raymond Smith, has raced for over 15 years. He’s the 2004 winner of the State Team Time Trial. He has first hand knowledge and input from fellow racers on what makes a successful event.
Smith’s father was a cycling enthusiast, riding his bike to and from work before it was a popular thing to do. His father introduced him to the sport and took him to bike races. His first professional cycling race was in Brookdale Park, where he had the privilege of ringing the final lap bell at age twelve.
At thirteen, Smith volunteered at a national cycle cross event in Nutley, NJ. In 1992, he purchased the Montclair Bikery in Montclair New Jersey and recently sold it after building a successful business over his 15 year tenure. He founded the Montclair Bikery racing team which had the highest team membership of any cycling team in NJ. It was then he began running his own races. He served as Vice President of Bike Montclair, a community group promoting safe cycling and increased use of alternative transportation. Smith also served on the Board of Trustees for the New Jersey Bicycle Association, representing race promoters.
Over the course of his years in the business, he has raised thousands of dollars for charities including Special Olympics, Aids Resource Foundation for Children and FATE, a non-profit organization which trains teachers to teach autistic children.
The entire Premiere Cycling Promotions staff is fully trained and professional and takes pride in well-managed, exciting racing events.
